The body has the potential to recieve many numerous benefits from the practice of yoga. A daily practice of as little as twenty minutes can reap the benefits of a yoga practice. When teaching yoga to your students it is important to explain clearly to your students the benefits of each yoga pose or asana that is being taught and performed. It will also help your yoga students to deepen their own yogic knowledge and practice.

Explaining the benefits of yoga also means that students can then choose the asana that is appropriate for them when doing their own self practice. This then helps the students once acquiring a certain level of practice and depth of knowledge, the ability to be more independent from the teacher and have more information to create their own sequences and practices according to their own needs and requirements. The list of the benefits of yoga is long and varied. The benefits of yoga range from energizing a person, to calming a person, raising ones spirits, to calming anxiety and tension and reducing stress. Depression, stress and insomnia can be relived through yoga. The entire musculo-skeletal system is strengthened and this improves posture. Mobility of the joints and muscles is also improved. The detoxification process is improved through the increase in the circulatory and lymphatics system and the organs that perform the detoxifying functions. Performing asanas in certain positions is similar to massage. There are wonderful healing effects to be experience through a yoga practice. Yoga can relieve the symptoms of many conditions that are on the rise in todays society such as asthma and arthritis. Back and neck pain and problems decrease through the rejuvenating and healing effect of yoga. When teaching yoga, as well as teaching correct alignment and posture, be sure to be passing on as much information to the benefits of each yoga asana. In your yoga business you could even provide information such as yoga cards or yoga posters for asanas or sequences for students to help them keep their self practice going at home.
